Romance is in the Air

Boho Chic

This is a look that I have been doing a lot lately, the only difference I don't have any combat boots, but if I did I would be wearing them with this.

Boho ChicA good maxi skirt was a staple in many girls summer 2011 collection. They are comfortable, light, airy and most of all they have such a fun flirty air about them. I love pairing my jean jacket with the skirt, gives it a good balance of feminine and masculine.

When it came to the accessories I wanted to go a little woodsy with them. Copper flower earrings and a variety of bangles. Then pairing a leather oversized bag to finish the look. Oh, and we can't forget the aviators.

The season is all about mixing colors that normally wouldn't go together and in this 'set' the colors are black and brown. Typically I am a freak when it comes to not mixing black and brown, I've always thought it was so tacky. But I am learning there are ways to mix them appropriately and they will look amazing.

Hope you all are enjoying these fashion blogs, I know I am.
xoxo.

Dress Me Up or Dress Me Down: Little Turquoise Dress

This is something that I do all the time when I go on vacation. Take a dress that can be worn "Dressed Up" or  "Dressed Down", it also works perfectly for a Day-To-Night look as well. I chose this simple Turquoise Dress that is fitted in all the right places.

To dress this look up I added a pair of dark-cream sunglasses, Chanel Studs, a leopard print bag, strappy heels and a thick banded watch. These studs instantly dress this look up, they are very sophisticated and the colors work perfectly. The leopard bag is an unexpected twist to this look. I love these strappy suede heels and how they match the watch.

To dress this look down I wanted to somehow work in this pair of Brogues. I am in love with them and I think they look lovely with the dress color. So I played off of the shoes by adding a leather watch and bag. I picked a pair of daisy earirngs which make the outfit so much more casual.

Let me know what you think!
xoxo.

Polyvore

Hey Everyone!

So recently I have discovered the most amazing site thanks to Blair Fowler, a.k.a. Juicystar07 from YouTube.

"Polyvore is the web's largest community of tastemakers where people can discover their style and set trends around the world. Trendseekers and shoppers alike come to Polyvore to discover the hottest brands, products, trends and looks. Polyvore's easy-to-use virtual styling tool lets you mix and match products from any online store to create fashion collections called "sets". After you have created a set, you can publish and share it with your friends and the Polyvore community."

I usually don't like sites that are similar to this one because of the limited products you can choose from and the program it self usually is low quality. Polyvore is none of those things. Please, just go check it out and be sure to follow me at http://countrywildflowers.polyvore.com/ .

Its been awhile since I wrote my last blog & most of you have figured out that I didn't keep up with "101 Days of Summer". I have always been a neat freak but recently I have gone beyond 'freak' to 'physco'. I have organized everything down to my sock drawer. And gosh darn I am proud of it!

I first started with my closet. The only major problem in my closet was getting my 20+ skirts off of 7 hangers. I had like 3-4 skirts squeezed onto one of those cheap plastic hangers. It bothered me so very much that a couple months ago I bought the hanger thing you see in the upper right corner at Walmart for like $5. What really set my closet organizing off was when I found the bottom left hanger for $1.30 at Goodwill. My closet is now in working order & color coordinated!

I have quite the shoe addiction. Not even gunna try to cover it up. I have always just had a bucket under my bed full of my shoes, but my collection has gotten too large and out of control for that. I found these hanging compartments (Top Left) from Target @ Goodwill for $2. Then I found the white shelves @ Goodwill for$3. I have all my black & tan/beige heels on the shelves along with all of my flats and sneakers. The bottom right picture is of my summer/spring boot collection, I keep all my winter boots in a container under my bed. The hanging compartments hold all of my flats, wedges, some of my heels, slippers and my vans/toms/sperrys.

Several years ago I purchased this from a vendor who was at one of our CFA Spirit nights. She made candles from home and sold them at Farmer's Markets and such. She had tons of scents and is a part of the green movement. There are several things that are awesome about these candles. One they are all natural! Two. when the wax melts you can pour it on your skin and let it dry. Once it has sat for 6-8 minutes wash it off and you will be so surprised how soft your skin is! Three, when the candle has melted you can bring the jar back and get a discount on your next candle!

I have spent a large amount of time figuring out how I want my end tables near my bed to look & what I want on them. This one is more for looks not so much functionality. I have three delicious smelling candles, three fashion books, a photo album, Bible & a flip stand thing with cute quotes. The ceramic statue was made by my grandmother years ago and then the woman in the photo is my Mimi. The glass ball with a flower in it is a paperweight I think. I covered the cork table with this tapestry that I got from Goodwill.

I posted this picture on Instagram but I was too lazy to make one that didn't say, "I have a blog..." so I figured you all wouldn't mind. Something that has always driven me crazy is how tangled all my camera cords get. I have a Nikon, a Canon, 2 Kodaks and a video camera. Each of these have their own USB cord, their own charging plug & their own TV adapter. Often times I find them all jumbled up like in the top left picture. I have found a functional solution to this problem. You will need..
1. Container (Mine is a box that Victoria's Secret perfume came in)
2. One hairband or rubber band per cord.

This is a super easy project and makes life a lot easier when you are looking for a specific cable. I wrap the cords around my fingers, as seen in the bottom photo.    I secure the wrapped cord with either a rubber band or hair tie by doing a simple pull through knot. I though that I could find an example of the knot I am talking about on google...but I couldn't. So i filmed this incredible high quality video for you to show what I am talking about!

Once all your cords are tied, place them into your container of choice. Though you may choose something other than a hairband its just what I had an abundance of. The ones that are all stretched out and should be thrown away are the ones I used for this project.
