There is a popular tag going around the internet via YouTube & I wanted to jump in on the fun. Instead of making a video I decided to blog the "I <3 Fall" tag. It consists of ten questions and I hope you all do you own version of "I <3 Fall" Tag and answer the ten questions!! 1. favorite fall lip gloss? Right now I am loving Maybelline's Baby Lips in the color Peach Kiss.
2. favorite fall nail polish? Sally Hansen's 'Wine Not' is most definitely going to be a most worn fall color and maybe even rolled over into winter.
3. favorite Starbucks fall drink? By far, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I wait all year for this amazing drink to come out!
4. favorite fall candle?
This one is a tie between two Bath & Body Works candles. Leaves and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin. They just make your whole house smell like fall.
5. favorite fall scarf or accessory? Does a purse count as an accessory? If so, one of my Steve Madden purses is my favorite accessory. It just seams to go with everything. 6. haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze? Haven't made it to Halloween Horror nights yet this year but we are planning on it. So haunted house it is!
7. favorite Halloween movie? I really don't like scary movies but Hocus Pocus is my version of a scary movie. I have loved it since I was little!
8. favorite candy to eat on Halloween? Reeses cups!!
9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween? I don't know yet. So many people have said I should dress up as the girl from Brave and just dye my hair red. Suggestions?
10. What is your favorite thing about fall? The cooler weather is so refreshing! Read for hoody, boots, and sweater weather!!
So far, throughout this process Matt hasn't had much of an
opinion on many things, so when he does have an opinion I try to go with what
he wants, as long as its not crazy. Its not that he doesn't care, he simply
doesn't have an opinion on color schemes, flowers, and such.
So when we began talking about a first dance song we
went back and forth between several songs. Matt kept being silly and most of
his suggestions at the beginning were "Butteryfly Kisses", "I
hope you dance", and every other cheesy wedding song. What helps us choose
was this.... YOUTUBE! I created a Youtube playlist filled with first dance song
options. I chose what I liked and he offered up suggestions. We just went
through adding and then deleting songs until we got in down to a couple. We haven't
made an decisions yet but we are getting close.
So here are some of our favorites below, listed
in no particular order. These aren't the only ones we are considering but are some favorites. Don't hate on our country style. ;p
1. I Cross My Heart - George Straight
"I cross my heart, and promise to, give all I
got to give to make all your dreams come true, in all the world you'll never
find, a love that's true as mine..."
2. From this Moment On - Shania Twain
"You're the reason I believe in love, And
you're the answer to my prayers from up above, All we need is just, the two of
us, My dreams came true because of you"
I know this may fall in the cheesy category but I
grew up loving this song, but Matt didn't like it so its a 'no-go' but I still
had to share it. He's not much of a
Shania fan.
3.I love the way you love me - John Michael
Montgomery
"I could list a million things, I love to like
about you, But they all come down to one reason, I could never live without
you:
4.It's Your Love - Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
"It's your love, It just does something to me,
It sends a shock right through me, I can't get enough, And if you wonder, About
the spell I'm under, Oh, it's your love"
5. Forever and Ever, Amen - Randy Travis
"As sure as I live, this love that I give, Is
gonna be yours until the day that I die, Oh baby I’m gonna love you forever,
Forever and ever amen, As long as old men sit and talk about the weather, As
long as old women sit and talk about old men"
6. I Swear - John Michael Montgomery
"I'll love you with every beat of my heart, I
swear, I'll give you everything I can, I'll build your dreams with these two
hands, we'll hang some memories on the wall"
7. I can't help falling in love with you - Elvis
"Like a river flows surely to the sea, Darling
so it goes, Some things are meant to be, Take my hand, take my whole life, too,
For i can't help falling in love with you."
8. Everything - Michael Buble
"I can't believe, uh that I'm your man, and I
get to kiss you baby just because I can. whatever comes our way, ah we'll see
it through, and you know that's what our love can do."
9. Hold On – Michael Buble
“So hold on to me tight, hold on to me tonight, we
are stronger here together than we could ever be alone, so hold on to me, don’t
you ever let me go.”
10. Lucky – Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat
“I’m lucky I’m in love with me best friend, lucky to
have been where I have been, lucky to be coming home again. OohOohOoh. They don’t
know how long it takes, waiting for a love like this, every time we say
goodbye, I wish we had one more kiss.”
11. The Way you look tonight – Frank Sinatra
“With each word your tenderness grows, tearing my
fear apart, and that laugh that wrinkles your nose, it touches my foolish hear.”
12. Better Together – Jack Johnson
“There's no combination of words, I could put on the back of a postcard,No song that I could sing, But I can try for your heart,Our dreams, and they are made out of real things,Like a shoebox of photographs,With sepiatone loving,Love is the answer, At least for most of the questions in my heart ,Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving, I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together.”
13. Count On Me – Bruno Mars
“If
you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea, I’ll sail the world to
find you. If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can’t see, I’ll be
the light to guide you. Find out what where made of when are called to help our
friends in need. You can count on me.”
14.
One and Only – Adele
“You’ve
been on my mind, I grow fonder every day, lose myself in time, just thinking of
your face…I dare you to let me be your, one and only, I promise I’m worth it,
to hold in your arms.”
Yes! Its true! After five years (exactly) we are finally engaged! I can not hide my excitement.
Of course everyone wants to know, "How did he propose?" so I decided to write a quick post on how it all went down.
We had made plans weeks ahead of time to go to Sarasota for our 5yr Anniversary so the trip ALL THE WAY to St. Armand's Cricle (Siesta Key area), and Lido Beach didn't seam weird to me. But to all my friends it apparently did..
Side story: So many of my friends called the engagement before I even caught on. My friend Emily texted me on our way there and apparently she is a psychic. Other friends told me afterwards that they had called it and had said something to other people about it. I was clueless though, didn't see it coming.
Anyways, we began our day early so that we got to St. Armand's Circle around 10:00am. If you have never been there you must go! Its a fun old downtown feel with lots of cool shops and restaurants. Its literally a five minute walk to the beach. We walked around shopping for a while, because that was what I was told was my anniversary gift.
He bought me new Starfish earnings, and a matching bracelet, a sun flower bracelet, and cute sea shell charm for my Pandora bracelet, and a Lily Pulitzer phone/wallet clutch. I felt so spoiled.
We continued to walk around and Matt had a craving for fudge, and I guess that Kilwin's has the best fudge ever. So Matt got a Choclate Peanut butter shake and while in line I found $20 on the ground! Go me! I of course looked around to see if anyone may have lost it but we were the only ones there. Needless to say, it payed for our yummy lunch. We had Cuban sandwiches, so good!
After lunch we finished walking around the circle and then drove to the beach to see if we could get a better parking spot. As we pulled up the car in the very closest spot pulled out, score! Second lucky moment of the day!
The beach was gorgeous and the weather absolutely perfect! The water at Lido Beach is completely clear. We were up to our necks and I could still see my toes, not to mention the water is so refreshing. Its not super cold like the east coast, but not as warm as bath water. Just perfect! The sand at Lido is like sugar, so soft! I can't get over how beautiful this beach is.
After swimming in the Ocean for a while we headed to the beach to lay out for awhile. We found a spot where not many people were around, which wasn't that hard, and claimed it as ours. Matt seemed to keep hinting that he wanted to go for a walk, but me being clueless, I insisted that I wanted to lay down and dry off for a bit. So we did.
Matt started talking about marriage and how scared he was about it and how he doesn't think hes ready and all these negative things (to throw me off). It was like he was purposely trying to get me upset or something. He loves teasing me, and he is good at it. So I was getting kind of agitated and that when he started moving around. We both had been laying on our stomachs and when he started moving around he was getting sand all over me, so being a brat and not realizing I was like, "Matt, you are getting sand all over me! Please stop moving." and he didn't say anything...just kept fidgeting with something.
I started talking about something else (not sure what) and then he was like, "Carrie..." and I still laying on my tummy, face in the sand basically, kept talking not realizing what was going on. He repeated himself, "Carrie..." I turned around and he was on his knee. And that's when it hit me, 'Oh, he is proposing...' and then the shakes came. He asked "Will you marry me?" and of course I said, "YESSSS!". All I kept saying was, "Are you serious? Right now? I didn't see this coming at all."Apparently that was the point.
I am the type of person that can't stand surprises. If I know or have an inkling that something is going to happen I will try my hardest to find out what it is. So he didn't want me to have any idea that it was coming. Which I give him props, because I didn't expect it then.
Neither one of us are flashy people and he knew that I didn't want him to propose in front of crowds of people or in the middle of the restaurant. The beach was perfect and so us.
I didn't cry until I called my mom. Just something about uttering the words, "Matt proposed!" brought on all these thoughts and memories that caused some tears. Of course she and my dad knew already. Matt had asked my dad prior to asking me, just like when he asked to date me over 5yrs ago. Poor guy, he was only 15.
We called his parents after mine and we all (my mom, his mom, and I) cried together over the phone....all on the beach. hahaa. I didn't care at the moment, I was so happy. Oh and my ring was gorgeous!!
Matt had planned a dinner with both of our families so after staying at the beach for a while we went home and got ready for a yummy dinner at Bravo, which was super yummy!
I forgot to post for the month of April. Forgive me? Thanks :) This month you will get two for the price of one. Yah you! Its like couponing for blogs....
I am not even sure where to begin, seeing how I am writing this in June. So lets begin with me New Years Resolutions (like every month) and then we shall get into some details about the month of April & May!!
1. Get straight A's - I am sad to report that I did not get straight A's this past semester. 5 As, 1 B, and a C. Not exactly what I was hoping for but gosh darn it I kicked but. I worked my but off in school and in work. So I am super proud of myself.
2. Save mulaaa - It is so depressing when you have gotten to a point where you have saved and saved and saved, and then things just seem to start falling apart. In the past two months I have had to replace my tires ($400), pay for Summer Tuition out of pocket ($900), and other things like that. Its like taking a shot to the heart, in Jon Bon Jovi's words.
4. Take a road trip - Yah!! Finally some plans are in the works! One of my best friends, Emily, got engaged and we are planning a road trip/beach trip for her 'not-so-crazy-bachelorette-party'. Nothing set in stone yet but I am super excited for a girls beach trip getaway with all my favorites.
5. Attend more live performance - One Direction concert is coming up at the end of this month!! Woohoo!
6. Blog & film on a regular basis - fail. Seeing how I missed a whole month and all.... but I am getting back on track.
7. No Chick-fil-A Waffle fries for ones year! - I am so incredibly proud of myself!! 5 months down and not a single fry all year long! It is amazing to me how something that used to be such a big part of my diet because I was working at Chick-fil-A, is now not even a craving of mine. I feel so much better now that I have cut out fries and other bad eating habits.
8. Drink five glasses of water everyday - I came so close to this goal but I can not honestly say that I drank that much water these past couple months. I have been drinking a lot of unsweetened green tea, unsweetened passion fruit tea, and coffee. But I try to keep a good balance of mostly water.
9. Run/work-out at least three times a week - I am kind of disappointed in myself. I was going strong for a while and then when exams hit at the end of April, then I moved, then I started a new job I just got lost in all of it. But I have gotten myself back on track lately and I'm going strong.
10. Get healthy! -Though I have not been hitting the gym as much as I have been hoping I have been watching what I eat so closely. Not to count calories or anything like, I am just trying to eat more healthy. Lots of veggies and fruits. But honestly, its all about your portion. You can still have a slice of pizza, just don't go for the 3rd slice, thats when you get in trouble.
11. Find a church Matt & I both love - Matt and I are still attending Discovery Church in Orlando and are loving it.
12. Move out (again) - Check mate! In early May I moved from my parents into my Papaw's house. I never really thought about it as an option but I am really enjoying having my own space again. My Papaw used to live in Ocoee but he has been living in Gainseville for over a year now. My cousin has lived there for a while but a house is a lot of up keep so I moved in and have been helping take care of the house since my Papaw is never home.
13. Figure out what I want to do once I graduate - New job alert!!! I was offered a position at the engineering firm my dad works for as a Marketing Intern!! I started in early May and I am loving it! The downtown vibe is so much fun, not to mention they told me I would be pulled on full time after graduation! I am so excited to see what the future holds when it comes to my new job!
14. Pick up more skills in the kitchen - Now that I have my own kitchen I have been cooking and baking like now other. The other day I made home-made apple pie, turtle brownies, and Apple Streusel muffins all in one day.
15. Read at least 5 non-school-related books - I had been wanting to read the Hunger Games so badly but because of school I honestly just didn't have the time. So I purchased all three books on audiobook and it worked awesome! I read (or listened) to all three Hunger Games books in the month of April. Such a great series, if you haven't read them I highly recommend. I may start reading them again, they are the best thing to listen to when I work out.
16. Get hitched - tie the knot - WE ARE ENGAGED!!! I told you a lot happened in the past two months. Matt popped the question while on Lido Key Beach on our 5 th Anniversary (May 26th). We are both so excited and let the wedding planning begin! I want to start blogging about wedding stuff as I plan it. Just a fun way to remember this stage. No date are final but we are looking at the first or second week of March 2013, granted the world doesn't end in December....
So yes, A TON has happened! So lets start in April and then move on to May
April, lets think back.... hum..
I got a pulled over two days before my birthday for going 30 mph through a 25 mph toll booth. I didn't get a ticket but the state trooper told me I needed to take off the license plate frame off from around my plate because he couldn't clearly see 'Florida'. Grrrr. I will punch you in the face if need be..
I turned 21 and I did a whole blog post about that. basically spent the whole weekend at the beach with Matt and some friends. Then had a dinner at Bahama Breeze with a whole bunch of people.
Later in the month I got a job offer from the same firm my dad works for, which was totally out of the blue. I wasn't even looking for a job and it kind of fell in my lap and I couldn't say no. So after 4.5 years with Chick-fil-A I switched jobs in early May. bittersweet for sure.I couldn't have asked for a better boss and co-workers. CFA family for life.
At the end of the semester, school was getting crazy. 7 classes with exams, brain explosion.
Early May, one of my best friends/bridesmaid got engaged (May 6th, I think) and 20 days later I got engaged. We never imagined we would get to go through this planning experience together and it has been so much fun. Granted, she is getting married in August, so she is planning everything in a quarter of the time that I have. I am in awe of her, I would seriously loose my mind.
humm, what else in May. Another great friend of mine celebrated her 21st at Taverna Opa, much fun there. Love you Vero.
Don't forget about National Star Wars Day on May Fourth....May the Fourth be with you! :) This is when my inner geek comes out!
Memorial Day was especially special this year seeing how two of my friends are serving overseas right now. Love and miss them.
Took Sam's senior pictures, which she looks gorgeous in! I am so happy to see one of my best friends find an awesome girl like her!
For our Five Year Anniversary Matt and I headed to Sarasota. Where he ended up proposing, which will be an entire blog post on its own...very soon.
Oh and celebrated another close friend's 21st birthday at Bahama Breeze...way to be a copy cat Daniel. geeez.
Wheewwwww. Thanks for sticking with me if you made it this far! I know that was a lot!! Keep your eyes pealed for an engagement post! :)
A quick thank you to everyone who shared in the celebration this past weekend. I had a lovely birthday and no, I did not get drunk or go crazy. I spent the entire weekend on the beach with friends and my man. It was almost perfection. <3
Matt's parents got me a Pandora bracelet and I can not wait to watch it grow!
March has come and gone and a lot has happened in the last 31 days. Spring Break, wedding planning for a friend, signing up (for the last time) for school classes, Jessica turned 19, Playlist Live, and so much more! Lets dive in to my 2012 New Year Resolutions first though!
1. Get straight A's - Though I can't say I will be getting straight A's in all my, I can say that I should be getting A's in every class but one. As I mentioned in my February post post, Managerial Accounting is giving me a run for my money. I am trying my hardest but with 7 classes, 6 A's & 1 B makes me happy!
2. Save mulaaa - woohooo! Check yes!
4. Take a road trip - No plans so far unfortunately but hopefully over the summer I will be able to get a group together to go on a short trip somewhere!
5. Attend more live performance - I went to Playlist Live, which I will talk more about later on in the blog, and saw so many different You Tubers perform. So much fun! I am also going to a One Direction concert in the summer with my sisters and some of their friends. Should be interesting.
6. Blog & film on a regular basis - fail. Once again. I'm hoping once this semester is over I will have more time over the summer to sit down and blog more.
7. No Chick-fil-A Waffle fries for ones year! - Three months down & I am still going strong!!
8. Drink five glasses of water everyday - checkmate! I have been drinking anywhere from 8-10 glasses a day! go me! Plus I haven't had any Sweet Tea since January!
9. Run/work-out at least three times a week - Gym time has become such an important part of my schedule and I have gotten to the point where I actually enjoy it when I go & feel bad when I don't. I make it a point not to weigh myself because my goal isn't to weigh X, its to be healthy and happy with my body.
10. Get healthy! - I am happy to report I am still on track and I as determined as ever. Cutting out waffle fries & sweet tea are just a couple steps that I have made towards a healthier lifestyle.
11. Find a church Matt & I both love - Matt and I are still attending Discovery Church in Orlando and are loving it.
12. Move out (again) - hopefully during the summer or near the end of the summer. 13. Figure out what I want to do once I graduate - So much has changed in the past month and I really have begun to dig deeper to find out exactly what my options are.
14. Pick up more skills in the kitchen - Everyone rejoice! I have continued my cooking adventure!
15. Read at least 5 non-school-related books - I shall not tell a lie. Though I began reading the Hunger Games last month due to so much homework I literally haven't had a moment to sit down and read. I started reading it again last night, lets see if I actually finish it.
16. Get hitched - tie the knot - If it was our choice we would have been married already, but we are trying to be smart financially and with regards to our education. **************************************************************************************************** Now on to a recap of the past month. I had my last 'College Spring Break' ever. Which was filled with work and a yard sale. Woohoo. Super exciting huh? Jessica turned 19, feeling kind of old. lol. Next month it will be three years since I graduated high school. Seems like yesterday. Debbie, a co-worker from my previous job, is engaged and has asked me to help plan and photograph her wedding in the fall. So that should be exciting. I just signed up for my summer and fall classes and this will be the last time I have to go through that excruciating process. Yah for being close to finishing school! One of the highlights of the month was going to Playlist Live. I got to meet so many of my favorite Youtube Stars and catch up with Veronica. So much fun!
Just a side note, I'll be 21 in two weeks! Woot Woot! What should I do for my bday?
I am absolutley in love with this trend. Light, flowy tops are so comfortable and basically flattering on any shape. They come in so many styles, patterns, and with a variety of fabric choices. Below are just some of the ways I like to wear/use these Boho Tops!
They are great for travel, they typically don't wrinkle. Perfect as a beach cover up. Looks killer with skinny jeans and a pair of heels to dress it up. Or one of my favorite ways to wear tops like these, with shorts and a pair of sandals or wedges! My favorite place to find these tops is at Marshall's, Ross, Target and Goodwill! All of these places are relatively inexpensive and carry very cute items! Thanks for stopping by y'all! Be sure to comment and let me know what you think! Follow me on Polyvore for more trend alerts and fashion related things! :) http://countrywildflowers.polyvore.com/
Ahh, another month has already gone by. I will most likely say this every time, but it has gone by so quickly! A lot has changed in my life in the past month and I could have never seen many of these things happening. First I will share with you how I am doing with my New Years Resolutions.
1. Get straight A's - on track as of right now. The only class I am a wee bit concerned about is Managerial Accounting. Its a challenging class for me.
2. Save mulaaa - check yes! I am so proud of how well I am doing on this one. Matt and I have sacrificed eating out and other entertainment things in order to save money. && It hasn't been horrible. We watch a lot of movies at home, make dinner for each other and sit around doing homework. We really are exciting individuals.
4. Take a road trip - Ahhh, I haven't even set up plans for this one. Still planning on doing it sometime this year though!
5. Attend more live performance - I haven't been to any concerts or shows yet but I have planned a couple to attend later in the year! I am also excited about Playlist Live coming up in March!
6. Blog & film on a regular basis - fail. Once again. Right now I think I will just have to commit to my monthly updates. This is something I can handle. School & work take up most of my time and attention.
7. No Chick-fil-A Waffle fries for ones year! - So am so incredibly proud to say that I still haven't eaten any type of fry this whole year! Two months down, ten to go!
8. Drink five glasses of water everyday - checkmate! I have been drinking anywhere from 8-10 glasses a day! go me!
9. Run/work-out at least three times a week - I am so happy that I joined a gym and I owe a lot to Matt. He motivates me to go and always is so encouraging. I have been working out at least four times a week, sometimes more. I do cardio almost every time I'm in the gym and mix in legs, arms, abs, and back through out the week. Feeling good!
10. Get healthy! - I have been doing so well. I also decided for the month of February I wouldn't drink any sweet tea & guess what, I haven't! Sweet Tea is one of my weaknesses, being from the south, so it is quite the accomplishment. I am planning on holding on to this goal throughout the year. I honestly don't even want it right now, unsweet tea or green tea with splenda or truvia is just as satisfying. The true test will be when I go to the beach over the summer. There is nothing better than laying on the sand with sweet tea in your hand. :)
11. Find a church Matt & I both love - Yah! This month Matt and I have found a church that we are both really liking. I will keep you updated on that!
12. Move out (again) - hopefully during the summer or near the end of the summer.
13. Figure out what I want to do once I graduate - As of right now I really feel like my heart is with Chick-fil-A. This is my 5th year working for the company so it is a part of me and I would really love to advance and do bigger and greater things with the company.
14. Pick up more skills in the kitchen - work in progress! But good news, Matt cooked me dinner the other night and it was so yummy. I am glad to have a good cook as a boyfriend. :)
15. Read at least 5 non-school-related books - I was reading the help and I just couldn't get into it. Not sure why. I recently started reading the Hunger Games and it is so good. Loving it so far!
16. Get hitched - tie the knot - I wish this on was in my hands but unfortunately its not.
So now that I have addressed my goals on to other things that have changed this past month.
Well, my work environment has changed drastically since last month. People have moved onto other things and though it is difficult to see people you love move on, sometimes you just have to come to the realization that it may be the best thing for them and for the situation. I have taken on in the past month more management responsibilities and have taken on the role of Marketing Director and Manager. I am enjoying the change & really like that I can still do marketing. I am learning so many new things and at times it is really challenging and makes me super nervous. But at the end of the day I have such a great group of fellow managers and an operator that are there to help me. So appreciative.
As I mentioned before I joined a gym at the end of January and I am so happy with the results I am seeing. I know its a slow process and the more persistent I am the more results I will see. I have changed the way I eat, what I eat, when I eat, where I eat... Basically, i just feel healthier, and that feels so awesome. I had a goal to just be able to run a mile without passing out and the other day I ran two and kept going. It feels awesome!
As many of you know that NBA All Star Game and events were in Orlando this year, yah us! It brought hundreds of thousands of people to Orlando and all businesses experienced increased sales. The Mall at Millenia seemed to be the hub for all celebrities to hang out and to let their fans know through Twitter that they were there. Which resulted in many people celebrity stalking. In the mall during the weekend was: Beyonce, Jay Z, Rianna, Chris Brown, LL Cool J, Lebron James, Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, Lil Jon, and so many other rappers, football players, etc...It was a crazy weekend at the mall but kinda exciting being so close to so many famous people!
Hello friends! So it has been a while since I last posted.
School + Work + Homework + life in general has kind of consumed me over the
passed couple weeks. It has been hectic and will continue to be hectic until
this semester is finished!
So I wanted to think back to January first, when I posted my
new year goals, and see how I've been doing! Just to refresh, here are my goals
& how I have been doing.
1. Get straight A's while taking 18 credit hours this Spring
- So far so good. Today was the first day I didn't go to class. I have just
been exhausted from so many things going on and just needed to take a breather.
I made sure nothing was going on and I have friends in all my classes to keep
me up to date.
2. Save mulaaa $$$ - Yah!!! For successfully saving money! Matt & I
are both doing this and are actually doing very well to our surprise! We
have almost completely cut out going out to eat and fast food. Its
crazy how much money you spend just on food. We do going out on occasion
but honestly us being so busy has kind of helped us to just eat at home.
3. Take a Road Trip (Go somewhere I have never been before) - I have not
done this yet but have talked to friends about it, so its still in the works
and I def want to do this by the end of the year! Maybe Spring Break!
4. Graduate school in the Fall with my degree in Hospitality Management
- SOOOoooo close!
5. Attend more live performances (Concerts, plays, ballet) - As of right
now, FAIL. This will be hard since we are trying to save money, should of
thought of that!
6. Blog and film on a regular basis - Fail. I have a couple that I need to
finish and post but it is so time consuming and school takes my first priority!
7. No Chick-fil-A Waffle Fries for one year! - I have done so well
on this one and have changed it to, NO FRIES AT ALL! I have successfully gone
one month with no fries at all. Yah me! Feeling good!
8. Drink at least 4 glasses of water before I have any other beverage
- yah, not gunna happen. I have cancelled this goal. Instead I am drinking
at least 5 glasses of water a day. I have come to the realization that I NEED
my coffee.
9. Run/work-out at least three times a week - At first I was doing ok at
this. I was running about 2 times a week. Nothing fancy. I joined a gym
recently and since I have been going about 4-5 times a week! So excited to get
into better shape!
10. Loose weight Get healthy! - Same answer as above! Yah for
eating better and being more active!
11. Find a church Matt & I both love - After trying out several
churches we have found one that we both really like. Updates on that to come!
12. Move out (again) - This will probably be happening during
the summer when I have time to think.
13. Figure out what I want to do exactly once I graduate - in
progress
14. Pick up more skills in the kitchen - I'm really trying to incorporate
this more buts its been really difficult.
15. Read at least 5 books that aren't school related - fail. I'm trying to
get through The Help, but I have no time.
16. Get hitched - ????
Anyways, I think I am actually doing a decent job. So decent
that I have decided that I am going to add a new goal or 'resolution' at the
beginning of every month! This goal must be health related. So for February I
have decided to give up sweet tea! I am a southern girl, born and raised so
sweet tea basically flows in my blood but I know how bad it is for me. I
recently began drinking half&half tea but I want to completely cut it out.
I haven't decided if Splenda or Truvia counts but my main concern is just
normal Sweet Tea.
I will be posted a blog soon and maybe even a video full of pictures from January.
Time to play catch up! I'll have to update you on the past couple days since I have been super busy getting ready for school and such. This past weekend was such a blast but slammed packed! So try to keep up with this super condensed version of my past couple days.
Friday and Saturday I worked all day long which was super exhausting. After we closed Saturday night David (another manager) and I had to stay late (midnight & beyond) to change & fix a couple things. Since minimum wage went up to $7.67 earlier this month our prices went up (chain wide) and I was the lucky gal to change them all while David fixed the grille and a register. But it wasn't that bad just tedious.
Sunday I woke up fairly early to meet Darius & David for breakfast at Ihop before we headed to Universal Studios for our Chick-fil-A Group Christmas Trip. Around 1:30 I left Universal and met up with Matt, Jordan, Sara & Kaley at Disney's Animal Kingdom, which was a part of Kaley's Christmas gift! We spent the rest of the day park hopping and actually visited all four parks! At the end of the day I was exhausted!
Work came all to soon on Monday. I worked 11-7 which isn't bad but I was groggy all day from walking around all day on Sunday. Probably should have found a day before school to rest, oh well. Live and learn. Had many people upset about prices raising but what can ya do? We had no control over it... We also rolled out our new Kids Meal Options! Grilled Chicken Nuggets and Apple Sauce! Both yummy and healthier alternatives. After work stuck around a little bit and registered Darius for classes and then went home to help Jessica, my sister, register for classes. Afterwards I ran to Walmart with Matt to pick up some last minute things for school. Can't start school with out paper!
Today was my first day of school and that start of my Senior year! woohooo! Very long day, especially 17 credit hours, but I am determined to get straight A's!! I can't remember if I have shared my classes with you but here they are!
All of my classes are being spread out between Tuesday and Friday, which is the most amount of days I have had classes since I began college, so I can't really complain. I didn't even have to buy all my books!! Which is super exciting if you know how much books cost! Two of my books a friend gave me since he already has taken the classes (THANK YOU TIMMY), one class doesn't require a book, and two classes I found the books on Amazon for way cheaper! SO yeah for free to cheap books!
Picked up Jess on my way home (it was her first day of college classes at Valencia) and we grabbed lunch at Tijuana Flatts. Stopped by Goodwill on our way home and then I went and hung out with Matt for just a bit. Had dinner with the family and reviewed all my class work for this semester.
